State of Dusiburg

The Council of the State of Dusiburg has approved the Law on Keeping Animals, obligating all pet owners to undergo a special theoretical course, starting September 1.
The law is aimed at raising awareness of responsibilities entailed by pet ownership and of the impact owners' behaviour can have on animals' welfare.
Meetings will be held at the State and District Veterinary Offices (Uffici Statale e Distrettuali di Veterinaria) in groups of 15 people maximum.
The law also imposes a penalty for non-compliance: a fine of 150 EUR.
